I'm taking on the 100 Miles Challenge this year to support Social Bite
I'm taking on the 100 Miles Challenge this year to support Social Bite break the cycle of homelessness, completing 100 miles throughout September and finishing on World Homeless Day on October 10th.This challenge will raise vital funds to expand the innovative work of Social Bite in providing homes, jobs, and food. Social Bite believes everyone deserves a safe place to call home, that a job can be truly transformative for someone who has experienced homelessness, and that food is one of the most powerful engagement tools to help signpost people to access the support needed.
I would be grateful if you could support my fundraising efforts with a donation to this page.
Every £20 donation could help Social Bite to provide x4 meals for people experiencing homelessness.
Together with your support, we can truly help break the cycle of homelessness.

The final day!
Tuesday 30th Sep The end of September is here and so is the end of my challenge. After a bit of a struggle with sore abs - who knew - I have abs! I covered the last few miles today for a total of 104 miles. A good achievement for me but more importantly much needed cash for Social Bite. Thank you to those kind folk who sponsored me and for those that thought ' maybe later' - that's today or tomorrow ( when is pay day? ) please consider putting a few pounds into this cause - nobody should be homeless and hungry in Scotland! Getting out there...
Monday 15th SepAs September gets a tad wetter I am well into my 100 mile challenge. I am so lucky to live in Scotland, where I get to hike in such beautifully scenery and share my hikes with Anna Johns. Not everyone is as lucky as us. Not everyone has a warm home to go to. If you are able, please support Social Bite by sponsoring me. The amount isn't so important- the recognition and determination to bring an end to homelessness is! Please go to my go fund me page or look up the work that Social Bite are doing...

Day 1 and life is good!
Tuesday 2nd Sep After a summer of hard work but not much exercise September promises to kick start my retirement plan... yesterday was a gentle introduction with a 2.9ml trek along the coastal path and through the woods. We are so lucky to have this on our doorstep ( although the developers have just appealed against the council's decision not to let them build all over it... ). For the time being however it's a stunning walk. Now all I have to do is keep it up for the rest of the month. Anna will be there with me so I'm looking forward to it! Share
Back on the trail (ish)
Saturday 30th Aug Recognising that my exercise over the summer has mainly been around shifting gravel, gardening and getting our Shepherd's hut up and running the Social Bite 100 mile challenge couldn't have come at a better time! I get to improve my hiking stamina whilst supporting a really good cause ( if you don't know much about Social Bite check them out online). I'm hoping to raise enough to not totally embarrass myself and (to declare all interests) I get a t shirt if I raise enough... so if you have the means please consider donating - it's very lonely on my page at the moment... 😂.
